New Work
Cherry & Ash Wood Carving
Woodcarving was one of my very first mediums. In the early 70's I created many rudimentary relief carvings. My great grandfather Joe Shannon from Marmora carved duck decoys so carving is evidently in my genes. Over the years I often return to my woodcarving roots. I'm excited about
my new owl series.
"David has made a
career out of creating both metal sculptures and paintings that capture and honour the iconic features of our Canadian landscape. His studio and sculpture garden are set amidst a landscaped forest which inspires his creative expressions. His eclectic use of a variety of mediums is inspiring and harmonious."
2019, Donation to Hospice for their ministry to those in need.(This work took on new meaning for me this month.) My mother was in hospice for 4 days before her death. The staff provided care and love to both my mother and family.
